Controversial "noisy" playground up for discussion tonight

A ‘'noisy' play area which faced a second threat of closure has been granted permission to stay open – but faces another hurdle.

Locks Ride play area in Winkfield Row was initially allowed to stay open after a court battle by neighbours was dismissed, but faced closure after it emerged Winkfield Parish Council had failed to get the correct legal documents.

On January 3 Vincent Haines, head of development management, approved the application for the certificate of lawfulness after Bracknell Forest Council’s planning committee delegated the decision at its meeting last month.

But the parish council is also seeking retrospective planning permission for a sandpit and play equipment in the Forest Road park.

Locks Ride park users celebrate court ruling

Ten letters of objection have been sent to the borough council highlighting the failure to address noise nuisance, parking problems and work happening without consultation.

 

But the committee is expected to approve the plans at the borough council’s planning committee meeting tonight.
