Biker and driver taken to hospital after separate crashes in same road

Police believe an incident which led to a motorcyclist being taken to hospital caused a second accident just 25 minutes later.

A motorcyclist and a driver have both been taken to hospital following two collisions on Laundry Lane, Sandhurst this morning (Tuesday).

Police were called to the first incident, involving a black Citroen and a white Honda motorbike at 7.50am, which led to one lane of the busy road, close to The Meadows shopping centre, being closed.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance after complaining of injuries to his knees and wrists.

Police believe the two collisions are related after a car, stuck in a tailback caused by the motorcycle accident, was involved in a second crash at 8.15am, between a Ford Focus and a Vauxhall Zafira.

One driver, who was left with suspected spinal injuries, was treated at the scene before also being taken to Frimley Park hospital.
