A girl who dedicated her 12th birthday party to a sick boy has helped to fulfil one of his life’s wishes.
Nicole Flynne invited her friends to the party at the Prince of Wales pub, Shepherds Lane, Priestwood, asking them to bring gifts for 14-year-old Charlie Crick instead of herself.
Charlie, who has an extremely rare heart disease, inspired Nicole and her nine-year-old sister Katey with his ‘bucket list’ of things to do as his future is uncertain.
The list includes being a judge on X Factor, going on a trip to DisneyLand and riding on the back of a Harley-Davidson.
Nicole, of Horsneile Lane, Priestwood, invited Charlie, of Sycamore Rise, to the party so she could share her day with him, along with Sadie Clarke, member of the Thames Valley Harley Owners’ Group who helped make his dream come true.
Mayor of Bracknell Forest, councillor Jennie McCracken, was also invited to the party. She said: “I didn’t realise the ages of the girls when I first heard the story so I thought it was brilliant what they did for him, it was a really lovely gesture.
“It was especially nice to meet Charlie. He’s a brilliant boy and the reason they threw the party for him was lovely.”
