Madejski hotel death named as Bracknell woman Danielle Cooke

A woman found dead at the Millennium Madejski Hotel has been named as Bracknell woman Danielle Cooke.

The 22-year-old was found at the bottom of a fire escape stairwell at the hotel at the Madejski Stadium in Reading in the early hours on Saturday, December 22.

In a statement her family said: "Danni was a generous, intelligent and beautiful young woman.

"Our family is still in shock at her untimely death and would like to request that the press and public respect the family's wish to mourn her loss in privacy and with dignity. Thank you."

Christmas party ends in tragedy

A post-mortem examination found the Danielle died from head injuries consistent with a fall from height.

Det Insp Phil O’Neil said: “We are continuing to treat the woman’s death as unexplained and are progressing a number of lines of inquiry in order to fully understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident."
