Bin blaze at KFC Bagshot Road

By Becky Barnes
January 02, 2013

A fast food restaurant nearly went up in flames when a fire ignited at the back of the building in the early hours of this morning.

Bracknell firefighters were alerted to a bin fire at the rear of KFC, Bagshot Road, at around 3am by a worker at the Shell garage next door.

Watch manager Gary Nash said the crew believed the fire was in a rubbish bin but on arrival realised a bigger bin was ablaze and was part of the storage area attached to the building which could have spread quickly.

He added the bin was completely destroyed and after extinguishing the fire the crew waited around an hour for the police to arrive.

The cause of the fire is unknown but is under police investigation.
