Broadmoor alarm 'just a fault'

By Jennie Slevin
December 27, 2012

A fault in the alarm system at Broadmoor has raised concerns with neighbours who could hear the alarm ringing at the hospital in Crowthorne.

One Get Bracknell reader, @blythiejnr, posted on Twitter this morning: "@getbracknell Anything happened at Broadmoor this morning to explain why the siren is going?"

A spokesman from West London Mental Health Trust (WLMHT) said: "Our security team has not activated the alarm since the drill on Monday.

"It's likely that they alarm has been set off as a result of a fault in the telephone line, which connects all of our alarm signals.

"It's an old system which we rely on and at the minute we're not sure whish of the 13 alarm signals is affected."
