Fourth place finish for Dani Harmer in Strictly Come Dancing

Bracknell actress Dani Harmer's Strictly Come Dancing adventure ended with a fourth place finish in the grand final.

Dinky dancer Dani, from Crown Wood, impressed with high scores in her tango and showdance but was edged out at the first round of the public vote.

The Tracy Beaker star praised her dance partner Vincent Simone after she learned she wouldn't lift the glitterball trophy.

"Everything has just been absolutely amazing but the best thing has been this man right here," she said. "I'm going to miss dancing with him - it's been wonderful."

Dani held back tears as she waved to the crowd and left the dancefloor for the last time.

Earlier the pair scored 36 out of 40 in their tango and 35 out of 40 for their showdance, leaving them bottom of the judge's leaderboard.

Craig Revel Horwood said he could see the 23-year-old's nerves in her performances but Len Goodman lifted her spirits with some kind words.

"You may be small but for me your talent is huge," the head judge said.

Olympic Gymnast Louis Smith was crowned series champion on the night, edging out stiff competition from TV presenter Denise Van Outen and Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh.
