No Christmas break for gas engineers

December 20, 2012

Engineers will be working round the clock over the festive period to ensure Christmas ticks over nicely.

The National Grid expects to receive 89 calls from Bracknell and the surrounding areas across the Christmas holidays.

Phil Clarke, head of London Gas Distribution, said: “Our engineers play a vital role all year round and the festive season is no exception.

“It’s our job to make sure homes, shops and business have a safe and reliable gas supply.

“We’re there to make sure people have gas to cook their Christmas dinner and heat their homes so they can stay safe and warm.

“Our staff will be ready to answer calls and deal with any gas-related problems that might arise on Christmas Day just as they would on any other day of the year.”

To report a problem with gas call the National Grid helpline on 0800 111 999.
