Electrical fault causes fire in warehouse

By Jennie Slevin
December 19, 2012

A fire in an electrical box caused a disused warehouse to set alight.

Firefighters from Bracknell and Wokingham were called out to the empty warehouse in the Western Industrial Estate, Downmill Road.

The crews were called out to the small fire at 9.50 this morning and were there for around half an hour.

Bracknell watch manager, Michael Fulwell said the fire took a matter of minutes to put out but smoke took about 15 minutes to clear safely. He said: "Fortunately the fire was in a part of the building which was disused so there was no risk to life.

"The fire alarm alerted everyone on the site and the building was evacuated when we arrived."
