Icy weather causes severe delays to trains

By Jennie Slevin
December 05, 2012

Trains running through Bracknell have been delayed due to severe weather conditions affecting rail services across the South East.

South West Trains says it will be operating on an amended timetable for the rest of the day running just hourly services to and from London Waterloo.

The transport company warns that trains during peak times are likely to be extremely busy due to the reduced schedule.

The disruptions are said to have been caused by cold and icy conditions.

SWT has apologised to passengers and has offered a full ticket refund for customers affected by today's disruption.

I believe FGW don't run trains that rely on a 3rd rail pick up for power.. so it's rare that they are affected by the weather in the same way SWT are. Other than SWT trains getting in their way of course.

At least they've offered a refund. FGW didn't bother.

Mind you they'd be liquidated in a week if they did.
