A murderer has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his girlfriend in a Bracknell underpass.
Muhammad Shafi, 28, of Basemoors, Bullbrook, was found guilty by a jury at Reading Crown Court and sentenced to a minimum term of 23 years.
Tuanjai Sprengel, 43, of the same address, died from blunt force trauma to the head in the Bay Drive underpass on Sunday, May 27.
Her injuries were consistent to those caused by tin snips and a kitchen knife.
Pakistani-national Shafi denied the charge and claimed that although his clothes were ‘blood-stained like a butcher’s’ he had no memory of attacking his Thai-born girlfriend.
