Police thank traders for Hallowe'en treats

November 16, 2012

Trick-or-Treat is now ‘treat’ according to Bracknell Detective Inspector Mick Squire.

DI Squire wanted to say a big thank you to all the shops in the town centre which stopped selling flour and eggs before and during Hallowe’en, on Wednesday, October 31.

DI Squire said: “Thank you to the shopkeepers who put themselves in a potentially confrontational situation with youngsters who may have been upset about it.

“This has taken away the trick side of it to an extent.

“Working together with the shops and everybody else has highlighted the fact tricks might be well meant but not well received.

“Doing this makes people understand.”

Police reported ‘no more trouble than usual’ and with ‘no significant issues’.
