Bracknell goes to the polls tomorrow

November 14, 2012

People living in Bracknell town centre can vote for a new town councillor tomorrow.

Polling in the by-election to fill the town centre seat takes place at the Kerith Centre in Church Road, Bracknell.

Four candidates are standing for the seat vacated by Neil Ellis, the owner of The Bull pub in Bracknell, who stood down in September after announcing he was leaving the town.

Lisa Bradley is standing for the Conservatives, Mark Brown is the Green Party candidate, Larraine de Laune is standing for the Liberal Democrats and Andrew Jackson in the Labour Party candidate.

In Sandhurst on Thursday, polling in the by-election to fill a vacant seat in the Owlsmoor ward of the town council will take place at Owlsmoor Community Centre, Yeovil Road.

Leo Anniballi is the Labour Party candidate. Ray Earwicker is standing for the Liberal Democrats and Andrew Shellhorn in the Conservative candidate.

Voting for the new post of Police and Crime Commissioner also takes place across the borough on Thursday.

Polling in all of the elections will be between 7am and 10pm.

If pizza GoGo can put a leaflet through my door every week, I'm pretty sure one of them could have managed it! No votes from my house!

Saw this on the Lib Dem website; http://bracknelllibdems.org.uk/en/article/2012/630854/concerns-grow-about-the-tory-and-labour-candidates-for-the-owlsmoor-by-election Looks worrying, why haven't the press picked up things like this?

Tories didn't even give out a leaflet, so I wont bother voting for them. Ray Earwicker is getting my vote, I met him and he seems a decent chap.

Shame there's no-one who can ever put an end to the "jobs for the boys" mentality of those 'in charge' of the UK...

I've communicated with the PCC candidates recently about the lack of information or desire to engage with the voters of Bracknell.

All have whinged about it, attempted to pass the blame on limited funding or the size of the Thames Valley Area, or just plain ignored me.

Tells you all you need to know about their vision for accountability.

Limited Funding?!?. They could take it out of their £100,000 a year (Apparantley) salary! I too have had nothing in the post/knocks on the door. I had a look at their profiles on the website and I also got nothing from that. No voting for me tomorrow. Total waste of money and time if I am honest.

How are we to vote? I've not had a single knock at the door or even a leaflet saying who is whom and what they stand for? It'll be like pin the tail on the political donkey!

I am the Mystic Chicken and I foresee a very low turnout.
