Pink power boosts charity

November 14, 2012

Peppa Pig helped raise cash for cancer research as fundraisers donned pink around the borough.

Staff and customers took part in Potty in Pink at Pinewood Bar and Café to raise more than £200 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Around 60 customers at the café in Old Wokingham Road enjoyed homemade cake and a cuppa for just £2 with others buying raffle tickets throughout the day.

Café manager Pauline Jordan said: “We had people wearing everything pink, even down to socks and underpants.”

Meanwhile a raffle, tombola and cake sale at Binfield Club raised £120.

Organiser Louise Pretty, of Great Hollands in Bracknell and who is an Avon representative, said: “Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the Avon charity and October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I wanted to do something.”

The events took place on October 26.
