Foxy's fireworks light up the sky

Explosions of colour lit up the sky and wowed crowds at fireworks displays across the borough.

More than 850 people enjoyed Crowthorne’s annual fireworks extravaganza last Sunday and the family of England rugby player James Haskell staged a spectacular fireworks party to raise funds for Sebastian’s Action Trust last Friday.

Revellers young and old wrapped up warm and watched the 25-minute Foxy’s Fireworks display at Edgbarrow Sports Centre in Grant Road.

The sports centre also put on a disco and there was a bouncy castle, trampolines, soft play area and go-karting on offer.

Councillor Bob Wade, chairman of Crowthorne Parish Council, said: “It was an excellent community activity bringing together the very young and very old.

“All the activities gave the young lots to do.

“It was a delight to see lots of people walking instead of driving and the team at Edgbarrow must be congratulated for another successful event.”

More than 100 guests tucked in to a hog roast at the house of Sebastian’s Action Trust patron James Haskell before enjoying a breathtaking display of fireworks.

The event in Binfield, will raise funds for the Trust, set up by Binfield parents Jane and Michael Gates in memory of their son Sebastian, who died of a rare form of childhood cancer in 2003.

The Trust fulfilled Sebastian’s dying wish when it opened a holiday home last year for families with seriously ill children.
