Ashleigh and Pudsey meet their fans in Waterstones

The author at a book-signing in a town centre store was like a dog with a bone.

Well, in fact it was a dog, but it was no ordinary canine.

It was Pudsey, the winner of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent programme.

The six-year-old border collie, bichon frise and Chinese crested cross visited Waterstones in Broad Street to put his paw print on copies of his new “autobidography”.

His PA, or owner, Ashleigh Butler was on hand to stamp the books with an authentic mould of Pudsey’s paw.

Cheryl Dibden, events co-ordinator at Waterstones Broad Street, said: “As you can imagine it was an absolute delight and unusual because I’ve not had an animal author here before.

“I’ve never had to ask as events co-ordinator if the author has any particular dog biscuit requirements.”

She added: “All the customers were really happy.

“We had a number of people who had queued from quite early on and they were really thrilled to meet Pudsey and Ashleigh.

“It was a great event and what I liked was that it was so quirky.”

Ashleigh and Pudsey won over the Britain’s Got Talent judges with their dance routines earlier in the year and are now rehearsing for their spot on the Royal Variety Performance.

He looks like he's about to say 'sausages'. But I have to admit he's really cute.

Four dog stories in one week. Bit of a ruff five days for our canine friends.

Normally the rider consists of cocaine, ketamine and a bowl of peanut M&Ms with the blue ones taken out.
