Parades and wreathlaying ceremonies will take place across the borough on Sunday to remember the men and women who sacrificed their lives for their country.
A parade will commence at Wokingham Town Hall in Market Place at 2.30pm, with the St Sebastian Wokingham Band leading the mayor, councillors, dignitaries and representatives from organisations to All Saints Church in Norreys Avenue for a service at 3pm.
There are also a number of other events taking place across the borough:
ARBORFIELD: At 10.30am a parade will form in RBL Club car park in Eversley Road, moving off at 10.45am to the War Memorial at Arborfield Cross and returning to the RBL Club.
FINCHAMPSTEAD: People will gather at Finchampstead Memorial Hall in The Village at 2.30pm before they walk to the village memorial for a 3pm service.
SHINFIELD: A parade will take place at 10.40am from the Shinfield Health Centre car park to the war memorial on School Green for a service at 10.50am. After the service, refreshments will be served in the Parish Hall and the Shinfield RBL Club will also be open.
SONNING: The parade will assemble at Pearson Hall in Pearson Road at 9.50am before moving off at 10am along the High Street, and The Bull access road to St Andrew’s Church for a service. After the service, coffee will be served at Pearson Hall.
TWYFORD: Organised by the scouts, the parade will meet in the medical centre car park ready to move off at 10.10am led by the Maidenhead Concert Band. The parade will halt briefly at the bowling green for veterans to fall in. A service will be held in St Mary’s Church.
WARGRAVE: Assemble in Church Street at 9.30am before marching off at 9.40am to St Mary’s Church for a service at 10am. The parade reforms at 10.45am for a wreath-laying service at the war memorial before marching through the High Street.
WINNERSH and DISTRICT: Meeting at 10.30am in the Castle car park in Hurst, the parade will march to St Nicholas Church at 10.45am for a service after which the congregation moves outside to the war memorial for a wreath-laying ceremony.
