Christmas concert to help the homeless

November 09, 2012

BBC Watchdog's Matt Allwright will be one the special guests at an atmospheric candlelit carol service in aid of Reading’s homeless.

Launchpad Reading, the charity helping single homeless people, is hosting the Christmas concert in Reading Minster to raise money to allow it to continue working over the festive season, when many of its clients are most in need.

There will be performances from local choirs plus readings from guests, including the Rogue Traders presenter who went to Blue Coat School in Sonning, plus Lady Catherine Stevenson, former High Sheriff of Berkshire, and John Miller, Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire.

The service is on Thursday, December 13, at 6pm in Reading Minster, St Mary’s Butts.

Tickets are £10 or £25 for families via the Launchpad website at www.launchpadreading.org.uk or on the door.

Wow, without seeming facetious, coughing up for tickets at that price may well result in many ending up as Launchpad's customers!

I wish them well and the event sounds lovely, but too pricey by far.
