Brakenhale bounceathon helps HopeHIV

November 02, 2012

Health campaigner Nicki Petitt and friends are jumping for joy after helping raise nearly £100,000 for children orphaned by Aids.

Nicki, of Tamworth in Bracknell, organised a 12-hour bounceathon on Sunday, October 21, at Brakenhale School as part of her 12in12 campaign to complete 12 fundraising challenges this year.

The former competitive trampoliner teamed up with Edgbarrow Trampoline Club for her latest fundraiser which netted £459 for HopeHIV, a charity which helps children orphaned or affected by HIV/Aids.

Nicki said: “A huge thank you to Edgbarrow Trampoline Club and their fantastic coaches for supporting the 12in12 event.

“We are just shy of £100,000 which is incredible.”

Nicki and 27 of her friends set themselves a target of £250,000 at the beginning of the year and have endured marathons, 100 kilometre runs, mountain climbs and triathalons to raise money.
