October 31, 2012
Jackie Kent, 17, works as a cafeteria assistant at Bracknell Market.
What is your favourite food? I love my steak. Nice and rare, near enough blue, ooo its yummy. Oh and sandwiches. Any sandwiches! Mainly ham sandwiches, with the bread slightly toasted and a dollop of mayonnaise. Nom!
What is your favourite holiday destination? I would love to go to France or Italy as they are well known countries for good food. But to be honest, I’m not fussy and anywhere that isn’t Bracknell is good enough for me!
What was the last book you read? 50 Shades of Grey (well the first chapter - it was naff)
What is your favourite TV programme? At the moment it would have to be Miranda! Followed closely by The Big Bang Theory.
What was your first pet and its name? Last year I complained to my mum so much that I wanted my own pet that I got a leopard gecko and called him Ralphie
What is your favourite film? It’s a huge toss up! The ‘Green Mile’ is a brilliant film definitely a favourite but I also love ‘Armageddon’ because it never fails to bring a tear to my eye - well and Brucie is quite easy on the eye.
What painting or photo do you have on your wall or desk? I have two canvasses: one of Elvis and one of The Beatles. I do rather like my rock and roll music.
Who would your ideal dinner guests be? Definitely Brian Cox, absolute legend who expands the minds of anyone who listens to him, Michael Mosely who has developed my passion for biology and Simon Baker who is just drop dead lush.
What car do you drive? Why would I need to drive when I have a personal chauffeur? (My mother)
What is your biggest regret? The only regret I have is not deciding what I wish to achieve in my life up until now. I could be a lot further along the process than I am. But that’s a life experience.
What makes you smile? Making other people proud of my achievements. I’m not a very happy person - lol.
What was your first job? I’ve worked at Bracknell Market Café for 18 months now which has made me realise what I want to do in life - become a chef.
What hobby/hobbies do you have? American Jive dancing, absolutely love the music and thoroughly enjoy the activity. I also love to cook for other people as it allows others to be a part of the love I have for cooking.
What do you like about Bracknell Forest? It’s quite a green place to live in - that’s it.
What is the one thing you would like to change about Bracknell Forest and why? I would have an indoor market built to replace the rundown building we are currently in.
If someone could ask you one question what would it be and what would your answer be? What is the meaning of life? Life is a challenge, with many obstacles that one must get through to achieve happiness. One should leave an impact on the world throughout their lifetime, whether it be to many people, or just a few. To me, the meaning of life is to be happy and make others happy. Simple as.
