Police given more time to grill Ascot 'attempted murder' suspects

Police have sucessfully applied for more time to question two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident in Ascot on Sunday morning.

A 24-year-old man from London is still in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a Volkswagen Golf R32 at around 3.20am close to the Esso Garage in High Street.

Police arrested four men on suspicion of attempted murder.

Two of the men have been bailed until Monday, December 10, and police now have until the early hours of this morning to question two other men.

Officers think the incident is linked to an altercation in Club One in High Street, which spilled out on to the street.
