Cheer on Winkfield's Josh Cuthbert in X FactorBy Becky Barnes

A singer from Winkfield has wowed this year’s X Factor judges and will be performing on prime time TV this weekend.
Josh Cuthbert, 20, and Union J, (formerly Triple J) were selected to go through to the live shows by groups’ mentor Louis Walsh in Las Vegas, last Sunday.
Josh’s mum Kathryn Browne, 50, said: “We are really proud and excited – I am very nervous. I think they have a good chance as they have the whole package.”
Kathryn, her husband Graeme, 51, and Josh’s siblings Callum, 13, and Victoria, 10, had to keep the truth under wraps after Triple J were voted off boot camp following a sing-off with rival boy band GMD3.
The mum-of-three said: “Watching it again was really upsetting. Josh rang me at the time and was absolutely devastated.”
The boys were thrown a lifeline when Rough Copy could no longer go forward in the contest due to visa issues.
The former Charters School pupil also reached the ITV1 show’s boot camp in 2007.
His mum said: “I was his chaperone and it was a very intense experience. He was probably too young then but he is ready for it now.”
Josh first found his voice when he auditioned for the part of Scrooge at Cranbourne Primary School, in Winkfield, aged 11.
Kathryn said: “I had no idea he had a voice – we were blown away by him singing.
“We got him straight into Stagecoach in Bracknell, who told him to audition for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”
Aged 11 he performed at the London Palladium for nine months as George alongside the late Stephen Gateley, who played the child catcher.
Josh has pursued his dream of being in a boy band, supporting Boyzone in 2011 with The Boulevard before forming Triple J with friends.
Martyn Parker, co-headteacher of Charters School added: “Josh is well-remembered by staff and some pupils at Charters as a real character, who brought a smile to the face, could be a bit cheeky, but had a sparkle about him.
“It’s no surprise that he is doing so well on X-Factor and we all wish him lots of luck on Saturday.”
Union J will perform on The X Factor on Saturday at 8pm.
