Registration is open for Thames Hospicecare’s 5km Santa Dash in November.

The dash, now in its fourth year, was officially launched at Princess Square shopping centre on Friday, September 15.

Michelle Bowdidge, senior events fundraiser at Thames Hospicecare said: “The Hospice relies almost entirely on voluntary donations to continue to run its services.

“The Santa Dash is a lot of fun but also important in helping us raise the funds we need to look after our patients and support their families at a very difficult time in their lives.

“We’ve had a fantastic turnout in the last three years that we have been running the Santa Dash, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this, our 25th anniversary year, will be the best ever.

“You don’t have to be a runner to take part. We have three different levels and participants can walk the route – it’s all about taking part and helping the Hospice.”

The event is open to anyone aged 12 years old and over and takes place in Swinley Forest on Sunday, November 25.

People taking part will receive a free Santa suit to run in, which can be kept, a medal and a goodie bag, as well as refreshments afterwards.

Entry is £15 and £2 for the Santa’s Little Helpers Dash, which is open to five to 11-year-olds.

A parent or guardian will need to be with anyone between the ages of five and 16.

Visit www.thameshospicecare.org.uk or call the Santa Dash hotline on (01753) 848 963 to register.

It should be noted that if you enter the race free parking will be provided, courtesy of a local business, along with a coach ride to and from the Look-Out. If you plan to park at the Look-Out or Coral Reef it has been confirmed by BFC that you will be charged for parking with no refund. Instead of parking at those two locations I suggest you seek alternative parking, lift share or cycle/walk and give the parking charges you're saving THC instead.
