Firefighters called to lorry fire in Ascot High Street

By Becky Barnes
September 25, 2012

A lorry driver called the fire brigade when he saw smoke coming from his vehicle this morning.

Firefighters from Bracknell and Ascot stations rushed to Ascot High Street when they were alerted to a lorry fire at around 10.45am.

A fire spokesman said oil had been dripping on the engine which caused the smoke but there was no fire.

He added the lorry driver had done the right thing in dialling 999.
