More sponsors have signed up to ensure Bracknell’s Celebration Fireworks party goes with a bang after an appeal in the Bracknell Forest Standard.

The event will commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics and will mark the completed restoration of the grounds of Bracknell’s South Hill Park.

A professional display by award-winning Star Fireworks will be the highlight of the party on Sunday, October 14 which will feature live music and performances.

Cllr Chris Turrell, leader of Bracknell Town Council, said: “It’s very heartening to have this support. The Jubilee and the Games have reawakened a very special spirit, and we want to celebrate this locally.”

The party will be compered by Rory McAllister of BBC Radio Berkshire and music will come from Joe Emmett, winner of 2012 Bracknell’s Got Talent, and the Edgbarrow Swing Band. Performing arts students from Bracknell & Wokingham College will also take to the stage. Sponsors include Bracknell Town Council’s insurers WPS; junior football team WAB and storage company Acres of Storage.

McDonald’s is donating refreshments, Signarama will provide banners and the Print Room has agreed to produce leaflets promoting the event.
