Childline looking for volunteers

By Jonathan Low
September 21, 2012

Childline is looking for volunteers to take part in its Schools Service to educate children about abuse across Bracknell Forest.

The service aims to help nine to 11-year-olds gain a better understanding of what abuse is, how they can protect themselves and how to seek help if they need it through ChildLine, which is run by the NSPCC.

People are needed for various roles including presenting assemblies and running interactive workshops for the children.

ChildLine area co-ordinator Janet Hinton said: “We are looking for people in Bracknell Forest to work with us on a local level to help deliver the service and let children know that they are not alone and help is available if they need it.”

All Schools Service volunteers must be 16 or over and ChildLine will provide relevant training and support.

For further details call Janet on 07786 021113 or to apply, log on to www.nspcc.org.uk and visit the ‘Get involved’ section.
