Bracknell Forest Council to be grilled on underspend tonightBy Hugh Fort
September 19, 2012
Council bosses will be grilled on their financial plans and how they plan to inspire people into sport at a meeting this evening.
Bracknell Forest Council holds its full council this evening and members will deal with two questions, one from a member of the public and one from opposition Labour members.
The first question is from Ed Glasson of the Defend Our Community Services (DOCS) group, who wants more details on the council's budget underspend.
He will ask council leader Councillor Paul Bettison: "What was the eventual total Bracknell Forest Council underspend in 2011/12 and what savings are expected as a result of the cuts being imposed in the current year?"
The second question is from Labour leader Cllr Mary Temperton, who asks Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for Culture, Corporate Services and Public Protection, what plans the council has to inspire people to "convert inspiration into particpation" after the Olympics
The council will also hear a presentation from Sara Thornton, chief constable of Thames Valley Police and discuss its Food Law Enforcement Plans and establish an appointment committee to recruit a chief officer for property.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm at the Civic Offices in Easthampstead House, Bracknell.
