Staff at Bewitched in Crowthorne celebrate big move

Staff past and present, friends and relatives raised a glass to Sheila Tims’ new and improved fancy dress hire shop.

Mrs Tims moved her Bewitched business to the next door shop in Duke’s Ride, Crowthorne, as she needed more space for her collection of costumes dating back to the 1940s.

The new shop opened on Thursday, August 30 and is bigger and brighter so the huge array of costumes can be displayed.

Pride of place in Bewitched’s collection go to two 1940s’ shot silk evening dresses which are hired out to customers small enough to fit into them.

However, the most popular costume requested by Bewitched customers is Captain Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Mrs Tims said: “We put the Jack Sparrow costume together here as we had an old frock coat which we bought from a Royal Opera House sale. We are a hire business, which is quite unusual as there are not many around anymore. We have original costumes from the 1940s.”

The shop also has a dry cleaners.
