Youngsters take part in Daft Olympics

By Jonathan Low
September 10, 2012

Archie Musgrove and Erin Gosling were the top boy and girl respectively at Jennett’s Park Kids Club’s Daft Olympics.

They were the top performers at the event at Jennett’s Park, which saw 20 children aged between five and 10 take part in activities including an egg and spoon race, welly throwing and an assault course.

Matt Musgrove, the club’s chairman, said: “There were lots of different sports and the feedback we had for the day was good.

“We plan to have events each half-term and holiday and we’re looking to put on something every week next summer. The next events are the Halloween and Christmas parties.”

The club was formed in June and aims to offer children on the estate the opportunity to become involved with various activities.

All the children who took part received medals and trophies, which were partly funded by a £100 donation from Great Hollands North councillor, Michael Gbadebo.

The event was organised by Helen Berry, who is one on the club committee.
