Yoga centre plans thrown out

By Jonathan Low
September 10, 2012

An application to convert an office unit to a combined chiropractic and yoga centre has been refused by Bracknell Forest Council.

The proposal, put forward by yoga instructor Sam Rao, would have seen the space in Wellington Business Park offer yoga classes and sessions with chiropractors for patients.

However, concerns were raised by council planning officers about the lack of parking space outside the unit for vehicles and bicycles.

Officer also felt it would create greater traffic problems around the area and would encourage on-street parking.

The plans were refused on August 23.

Utter disgrace! One minute we are urged to get fit the next they stop a yoga centre, which could benefit many, by one of the best teachers in the country - from going ahead. I'm sure there are plenty of nearby parking spaces, I'm sure people who practise yoga would be happy to walk a distance to class. The council arn't concerned over the traffic or parking problems an extra 10,000 houses they are building in the area will cause....
