A spectacular summer of events will go out with a bang at a free firework display – but organisers are appealing for sponsors.
Award-winning Bullbrook-based Star Fireworks will be at South Hill Park on Sunday, October 14.
The show will also mark the completion of £2.3million restoration works to South Hill Park’s grounds and is a collaboration between the arts centre, Bracknell Town Council and Bracknell Forest Council, sponsored by the town council’s insurers WPS.
Councillor Chris Turrell, of both councils, said: “We are very pleased to have this sponsorship, and would also welcome financial help from other sources. This looks like being a really great event.”
Star Fireworks owner and manager Andy Hubble said: “We have a lot to celebrate this year and we will be putting on a really cool show with a special soundtrack to take you right back to the Olympic Stadium and Jubilee celebrations.”
The event will be compered by Rory McAllister of BBC Radio Berkshire and will feature Bracknell’s Got Talent winner Joe Emmett, Edgbarrow Swing Band and students from Bracknell and Wokingham College.
College principal Campbell Christie said: “College students can perform a number of roles at an event such as this, as an enhancement to their coursework. The college wants to be at the heart of our community and we are really looking forward to being involved with the event, which I am sure will be fantastic.”
Refreshments will also be available at the event, which will take place on the south lawn of South Hill Park from 5pm, with fireworks starting at approximately 6.30pm.
