Pensioner crashes into fire vehicle

By Jon Nurse
September 05, 2012

An elderly man was shaken up after he crashed into a fire vehicle yesterday.

The man's car collided with a high volume pumping unit outside Bracknell fire station in Downshire Way just after 10.10am.

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "An old age pensioner was the only person in the car and was walking and conscious afterwards.

"His car was damaged and there was not much damage to the pumping unit.

"Police were requested to attend and the vehicle was made safe."
