Skate jams, BMXs, barbecues, inflatables and bucking broncos have been keeping teenagers busy during the summer break.
Bracknell Forest Youth Service has put on a whole host of activities for youngsters and in the final event of the summer on Tuesday Olympic torchbearer Katie Lambert bought along her torch to Bracknell town centre.
Katie, 16, from Bracknell, a youth council member who carried the flame through West Sussex on July 16, said: “It was good to see young people take part and make good use of the service we provided.”
Members of youth council have helped at events all over the borough, including travelling with the youth service bus and encouraging young people to take part in various consultations.
Darren Berry, senior youth worker for young people’s engagement at Bracknell Forest Council, who organised the summer programme, said: “At the end of an amazing summer the torch was a fantastic ending.
“This event bought to an end a wide range of free activities organised by the youth service.”
Young people aged 11 to 19 have also had the opportunity to take part in drop-in sessions and courses including sexual health advice, urban arts and babysitting.
