A school trip turned into more than one teenager had bargained for when she was scouted for a modelling competition.
Natural beauty Chloe Gay, 15, from Warfield, was approached at the Birmingham Clothes Show in December and has since made it into the final 60 of Miss Teen Queen UK from 19,000 entrants.
Chloe said: “I was really surprised as I was on a trip for GCSE textiles. I didn’t expect to be approached.”
The Ranelagh School pupil has since made it through several rounds to make it to the final 60 and she modelled on the catwalk at Alexandra Palace, London, on Friday, in the hope of making it to the final 12.
She said: “I am really nervous but during the experience I have felt a lot more confident.”
Chloe has had the true VIP experience with a photo shoot at the beginning of May where she had a professional stylist and make-up artist.
She said: “I really enjoyed the photo shoot and as I am one of those people who is not sure what they want to do, modelling is now an option.”
The teenager lives with mum Leanne, dad Mark and 12-year-old brother Jake.
And she said her family and close friends have been really supportive.
Mum Leanne said: “We are pleased for her because it has given her a real boost of confidence. I said to her go for it – you only live once and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“I think I will be more nervous on the night than her though.”
