Firefighters rescue cat from tree

By Jon Nurse
September 03, 2012

A cat was saved from a tree in Binfield this afternoon.

A crew from Bracknell fire station was sent to Benetfeld Road just after 5pm where a small black cat was stuck in a tree near Binfield Primary School.

Watch manager Scott Pay said: "We stuck up our big ladder and got him out with a cat bag we were given by the RSPCA.

"We wouldn't normally respond to requests like this but there were concerns that kids might start climbing the tree to try to rescue it. There were a few kids waiting there when we arrived."

Firefighters were at the scene for around 20 minutes.

Seriously? This is only ever used as a comedy 'local' headline isn't it? What about "police not called to an incident" or "bear does business in woods". Eesh!
