Quids in from Diamond Jubilee street party
July 27, 2012
Kind-hearted people from Crowthorne handed over £300 to a local charity after holding a hugely successful Diamond Jubilee street party.
The event was held in Upper Broadmoor Road and families from there, Brookers Corner and Bracknell Road, had a great day in the sunshine on Sunday, July 15.
Organiser Lydia Tye was joined by other people involved with the celebration at Woodmancote Centre in Pinewood Avenue on Tuesday to present the cheque to the COATS charity.
The charity runs the centre for older people in Crowthorne and the money raised will be a welcome boost to its coffers.
Lydia said: “The money was raised from entry tickets, a name-the-bear competition and generous donations from residents of Upper Broadmoor Road.
“Our residents range from young babies and toddlers to the elderly and we all felt that we would like to give something back to the community.
“A huge thank you to everyone for making it such a memorable day.”

Please give this report above once corrected the same FRONT PAGE COVERAGE across all the papers you gave to the incorrect report on the 18th and 19th July. Your co-operation is much appreciated. Thank you.
