Bracknell looks glorious in the sushine

By Becky Barnes
July 26, 2012

Bracknell people made the most of the borough’s green spaces this week as temperatures soared.

The mercury headed towards 30 degrees centigrade on Tuesday, with sun worshippers flocking to South Hill Park.

Reah Jarvis, 31, a hairdresser, of Wayland Close, Harmans Water, was enjoying some ‘mother and daughter time’ with Alicia, two.

She said: “It would be nice if there were more places like this in Bracknell – you can come down here and it doesn’t cost a fortune.”

Friends Nitikorn Hudson, 37, full-time mum to baby Harvey, of Greenham Wood and Nong Teibeman, 42, a catering assistant, from Wildridings, were sitting in the shade.

Fay Andrews, 27, a full-time mum from Warfield, Ali Munnis, 28, a mum on maternity leave from Easthampstead and Karen Graham, 28, a mum from Forest Park were out with their four children.

Fay said: “The sun is great because the children get up to less mischief. ”

A Met Office spokeswoman said Bracknell had reached 27.8 degrees centigrade on Tuesday with 14.4 hours of sunshine. Temperatures are expected to hover around the same mark with slightly more cloud in the next couple of days.
