Community thrives at Crowthorne street party

July 23, 2012

Neighbours in Crowthorne showed community, Olympic and jubilee spirit as they enjoyed a rare day of sunshine to hold a street party.

The people living in Upper Broadmoor Road threw the party on Sunday and held a range of Olympic and jubilee related activities, including themed crown and scarecrow making competitions, as well as a games provided by Score Events.

The winner of the scarecrow Competition was Michael Wintringham, seven, and his mum Sam, who made a model of Alfred Hitchcock complete with clapper-board. The event also included a talent show.

A charity in the village could also benefit as some of the money from ticket sales goes back to Score events, but whatever is left over will be donated to Crowthorne older people’s charity COATS.

Brian and Anne Morgan presented Michael Wintringham and his Mum Sam with a special Scraecrow Trophy. None of the money is going to Score Events. The Winner of the Talent Show was 5 year old Jack Fowler for his amazing performance "Hula Hooping". Thank You.
