Fire in terrapin classroom at old Garth Hill site

July 21, 2012

Arsonists broke into a disused mobile classroom at a derelict school site and lit a fire last night.

Firefighters from Bracknell and Wokingham were called to the old Garth Hill College site in Sandy Lane at about 7.15pm.

They arrived to find someone had broken into a terrapin classroom on the site and started a fire.

The fire was a small one and was quickly extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hoses quickly got the blaze under control.

However, there was a lot of smoke so the teams had to use a high pressure fan to blow the smoke out of the building.

They left at around 8.45pm.
