Census shows small increase in Bracknell Forest population

Bracknell Forest is one of the smallest growing areas in the South East, increasing its population by just 3.2 per cent a decade.

The figures released from the 2011 Census show the population of the borough has increased from 109,700 in 2001 to 113,200 in 2011.

Nearby Wokingham has an even slower growing population, with growth of just 2.7 per cent from 150,300 to 154,400 people.

In Reading there was a much larger increase of 7.6 per cent, with the population rising by 11,000 from 144,700 to 155,700.

The data gathered from the Census is used to plan housing, roads, schools and health care provision. Anyone who refuses to be counted can be fined up to £1,000.

Don't worry the government and local council have a solution to make sure it increases by much more in the next ten years. They are going to build lots of houses in the area so that a huge number of people can move to the area from elsewhere.

Their reason. They are needed by the rapidly growing population. Local residents will need to get used to hose pipe bans, clogged roads, overcrowded schools etc.

Census researchers are also baffled after it emerged that nearly four million more people are choosing to live in Britain than in 2001. The figures are much higher than expected, given the country’s prevalence of dreadful weather, poor quality televised entertainment and small muscular dogs with massive teeth.
