Delays after jackknifed lorry on A329 roundabout

By Jon Nurse
July 19, 2012

A lorry shed its load of 21 tonnes of copper rolls onto the Jennett's Park roundabout on the A329.

Drivers should expect delays on the Bracknell-bound lane after a lorry jackknifed at the roundabout at 4.15pm.

Vehicles are able to pass along the roundabout's sliproad.

Police have sent two officers to attend the scene.

Couldn't agree more Tom Edwards. The problem is that many of the people impacted aren't local residents so the council don't care. The roundabout is as bad as the Shinfield Road scheme in Reading, but because there isn't a local voice to the problem it doesn't get the same awareness or publicity.

Its only a matter of time before there is a more serious or even fatal incident on that Roundabout. Whoever designed it should be fired, and whoever has reviewed it since it went "live" should have their professional qualifications reviewed! This roundabout is a poorly designed nightmare. When will the Council and Mary Ballin wake up and admit it needs a rethink! tryign to get out of Bracknell to the M4 in the evening is hell on earth. i always come through Peacock Lane or even via Coppid Beech!

It is one of the worst designed 'roundabouts' around. I love the way that on the major connection between the M3 and M4 where most authorities would look to improve connection speeds that Bracknell put in a ridiculous roundabout as the cheapest solution to a problem they created when Jennetts Park was approved. I am surprised that there aren't more accidents heading from the M4 towards Bracknell on the new slip road as many people are in the right lane to avoid the traffic coming on from the poorly visible Wokingham junction and then the slip road is only a hundred metres or so past the junction so there is a lot of cutting up to get back in the left lane. A classic case where the majority of road users have lost out due to poor planning of new houses.

...not sure if we should be advertising the fact that there is copper up for grabs in Bracknell.
