Mayor invites Prince Philip to visit Sandhurst

By Becky Barnes
July 12, 2012

Prince Philip has been sent a written invitation to visit Sandhurst and meet its residents.

Mayor of Sandhurst Councillor Dale Birch decided to invite the Duke of Edinburgh after he met him at the recent Royal garden party in Henley

Cllr Birch said the 91-year-old, who looked in “good health” reached through the crowd to talk to his wife, Cllr Gill Birch.

He said Prince Philip asked Gill where she was from and spoke to the whole family.

Cllr Birch added: “We hope he will visit when he is a little less busy.”

I love Prince Phillip - he's a complete loon but he's great fun.

The question has to be asked though, why has Cllr. Birch asked him to visit Sandhurst? What purpose does it serve?

Oh, I see....because he's a huge brown noser and feels touched by celebrity.

As a leading light in the local Tory association maybe Mr Birch should concentrate on getting that other Phillip to visit the constituency more often first?
