Workshop for community to have a say on health and social services

By Julie Spencer
July 09, 2012

A workshop where voluntary and community organisations can have their say about health and social services in Bracknell takes place next week.

The event to help formulate Local Healthwatch, which will give patients advice and information about health and social services, is at The Open Learning Centre on Wednesday.

The workshop will be a chance for organisations to understand how they will work with Healthwatch.

Councillor Dale Birch, executive member for adult social care, health and housing, said: “We want to hear from voluntary and community sector, not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises that currently advise, help or support users of health and social care services.”

Glyn Jones, director of adult social care, health and housing at Bracknell Forest Council, added: “There has never been a greater need for an organisation to help people get to grips with all the changes in the NHS and social care and to access the support and services they need.”

Email Keith Naylor at healthwatch.development@bracknell-forest.gov.uk before Sunday to book a place.
