Ex-Wellington College pupil claims teacher Bruce Roth molested himBy Becky Barnes

A former Wellington College pupil claimed he was molested by maths teacher Bruce Roth while in his care as a boarder, a court heard.
Speaking at 46-year-old Roth's trial at Reading Crown Court today, the man said when he was 15 the housemaster visited his bedroom for about a year.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said he turned to Roth for "comfort" and "reassurance" when he had problems at home.
He said: "I went to him in a bit of a state, then at night he started coming in and talking to me a bit and then touching.
"He said 'I am just giving you a bit of affection because I think you might be lacking that at home.'"
The alleged victim, the fourth of five giving evidence in the case, said Roth turned up "unannounced", sat on his bed and started talking before physical contact began.
The witness claimed: "I would sometimes stop him from going further".
Asked why he didn't tell anybody he said: "It was quite a macho environment - I didn't want to make a fuss or anybody to find out."
The court heard in February 2011 the witness received a text message from his father telling him there had been allegations against Roth published in newspapers.
He said: "I heard he had also done it to other people and I guess thinking about it, due to my inaction somebody else got hurt.
"I would quite like to see justice is done and ensure he never has an opportunity to do this again."
Giving evidence the alleged victim confirmed he didn't read reports of the other allegations and didn't know who the other alleged victims were.
The names of the two other alleged Wellington College victims were read to the witness and he confirmed he was not friends with them at school and had not become friends or spoken to them since.
The court heard from the mother of the alleged victim who said when she heard there were allegations against Roth she "immediately felt numb" because she knew her "most precious" son had been "vulnerable" when he was at school.
She asked him whether he had been abused but he did not feel able to tell her until September last year, jurors heard.
A third former Wellington College boarder is due to give evidence this afternoon.
Roth is denies four counts of indecent assault on a male under 16, four counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and six counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.
The offences are alleged to have taken place over 22 years and relate to five boys, two who were at King's College, Rochester, and three at Wellington College, in Dukes Ride, Crowthorne.
The trial continues.
