Teens are the pride of Priestwood

Young people were presented with certificates to celebrate their hard work at an award ceremony.

Teenagers aged 14 to 16 from Priestwood Youth Centre, in Priestwood Court Road, who completed a babysitting course and a senior member training course, were congratulated by Mayor of Bracknell Forest Councillor Jennie McCracken.

Judy Galvin, project development manager at the centre, said: “All 12 young people on the course passed with more than 83 per cent. Some of the young people did both courses and many that did the senior member training course are volunteering in youth centres across the borough and learning about the role of youth workers.

“I am so proud of them all.”

The babysitting course means some of the young people have been able to start earning pocket money and the senior member training course has inspired the them to continue with their volunteering.
