Three council-owned properties will be put up for sale after being deemed surplus to requirements.
Bracknell Forest Council’s executive has agreed to put the three buildings – Brackworth in Broad Lane, Harmans Water; Craigholm in Faringdon Drive, Harmans Water; and the site of East Lodge in Great Hollands – up for sale at market value.
Brackworth is a two-bedroom detached bungalow, which was used to provide accommodation for the homeless.
It has become run-down and needs considerable work done on it to meet the Decent Homes Standard. The building is thought to be worth £250,000.
Craigholm is a five-bedroom Edwardian House which was managed by the Mencap charity and used for adults with learning disabilities. It is thought to be worth about £350,000.
The buildings on East Lodge have already been demolished and the council intends to sell it for housing,
The council’s early analysis of the site shows it may be used for a block of four two-bedroom flats and two one-bedroom flats.
The site is valued at around £150,000.
