By Hugh Fort
June 23, 2012

Two men were arrested at Royal Ascot yesterday for allegedly possessing fake money.

The two are being held in custody and as of 4.30pm yesterday, were the only arrests of the day.

Superintendent Steve Hockin, who is commanding the Thames Valley Police operation, said: “There have been no significant incidents at this time and crime continues to be at lower levels than it was during last year’s event.

"What crime we have had has mainly been drink related offences and minor thefts.

"The crowd has largely been good natured again and appear to be enjoying the event."

An update on any incidents in the evening will be released later today.
