Police release CCTV images from bus attack

Police have released CCTV images of four men wanted in connection with an assault on a No 17 bus.

A 21-year-old man was punched to the floor of the bus while travelling with his partner at 2.20am on Saturday, April 14.

He suffered swelling and bruising to his eye and jaw.

His attackers left the bus at the stop near the Victoria pub, in Norcot Road, Tilehurst.

The first man (pictured top front) is white, about 18 to 20-years-old, slim, between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 8ins, with short blond/light brown hair which is receding. He was wearing a dark grey roll-necked jumper and dark coloured trousers.

The second (pictured top back)  is white, aged between 18 and 24-years-old, of medium build, 5ft 5ins to 5ft 8ins, with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a black v-neck jumper with a white T-shirt underneath and black jeans.

The third man (pictured bottom left) is white, aged between 18 and 22-years-old, of medium build, about 5ft 8ins and with medium length styled brown hair. He was wearing a grey long-sleeved shirt with denim jeans.

The fourth (pictured bottom right) is black, aged 18 to 24-years-old, of medium build and about 5ft 6ins. He was wearing a black baseball cap and black leather jacket with a white T-shirt underneath.

Anyone who recognises the men or who witnessed the incident should call PC Terry Dixon on the non-emergency police number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

   It does beg the question as to why it has taken so long to make these pictures available. It is now two months since the incident and whilst they are clear for a change it does seem stupid to leave it this long especially in this day and age when digital technology is everywhere.

But then being the cynical fool I am - it will take another nine months before this gets anywhere near a court room!!!!!!!!!!!!!
