Scouts take St George's day seriously
By Becky BarnesMay 15, 2012
Scouts, Cubs and Beavers paraded through the town and renewed their promises at their annual St George’s Day celebration.
About 350 Scouts from eight south-east Berkshire troops walked with flags from Easthampstead House, past the bandstand to St Joseph’s Church.
Councillor Chris Turrell, mayor of Bracknell Forest, who attended the event on Sunday, April 29, said: “They were very lucky with the weather – the rain held off.
“It was a very nice service, they all did well and had the chance to rededicate themselves.”
Scouts, their leaders and families, watched a play about St George and the dragon before renew-ing the Scout promise.
