Help Matilda star Kerry Ingram win award

A girl from Warfield who landed a leading role in the glitzy West End production of Matilda is in the running for a top industry award – and she wants the people of Bracknell to help her win it.

Kerry Ingram, 12, from Walsh Avenue in Warfield, has been nominated for a What’s On Stage Award for her role as the iron-willed little girl who can move objects with her mind. Alongside the other Matildas – Cleo Demetriou, Eleanor Worthington Cox and Sophia Kiely – Kerry is up for the Baby Grand Best Actress in a Musical award.

She faces tough competition from Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden in Shrek the Musical and former Coronation Street actress Sarah Lancashire, for her role in Betty Blue Eyes.

Kerry landed the role in 2010 and has been alternating the lead role with her fellow nominees ever since at the Cambridge Theatre in London. She is a pupil at Charters School in Sunningdale and a member of the Songtime Theatre Arts Group in Birch Hill.
